America vs. France

Animosity

Living in America, do I really feel anti-French sentiment? No. But did I feel it in France? No. Maybe I ignore such idiocy. It seems the French "depict[ed] America as a stunted wasteland, a soulless technocracy, and a racist behemoth hell-bent on world domination."

I did learn that while the French may have been laughing at Jerry Lewis, they were actually laughing at American culture. Our capitalist spirit "suggests to the French that we lack a sense of fraternity and solidarity."

Did I actually learn anything of value from the article? I knew the French didn't like Americans and vice versa, but it seems much of that is hype.

Just my opinion.
